The League of Evil is not an art project and not a troll party. We want to develop real political positions, justify them publicly, and make an impact at the local level — starting in Saarbrücken.
The supervillain branding is a rhetorical device. You can read more about it in our article Why We Are Supervillains.
Who's behind the League
Every supervillain needs a tragic backstory. Here's ours:
Behind the League of Evil is Florian Dietz — an AI researcher from Saarbrücken who has spent years working on epistemics and systems development and grew increasingly frustrated with how slowly politics responds to technological realities.
Now he's stopped warning people and started doing politics himself. As a supervillain, because that's more honest than the alternative.
"Doctor Dubium" is the stage name of Florian Dietz, used for his political work as a supervillain.
"They wouldn't listen when I warned them! Now I have no choice but to seize power in order to save them! *kraka-thoom*"
— Dr. Dubium
The AI Minions
Every supervillain needs minions. Ours are language models.
Yes, language models are flatterers — they tend to tell the user what they want to hear. But humans do that too, they're just better at hiding it. And unlike humans, you can explicitly instruct an AI to tear apart your own analysis. You can force it to formulate the strongest counterargument. You can inspect and verify the entire reasoning process.
That doesn't make the problems disappear, but it makes them visible. And that's more than most political processes achieve.
In addition to the AI minions, we consult real experts when a topic requires domain knowledge beyond what a language model can reliably provide. We use AI because most people today underestimate how good language models are when you know how to use them properly, not because we think they're perfect.
→ Here's what that looks like in practice.
Become a Supervillain!
Have you always wanted to become a supervillain and unleash hordes of AI minions on real problems along the way? Then join the League of Evil.
We're looking for people who want to contribute to the analysis, who want to get active locally, or who simply want "supervillain" on their business card.
